I guess we all know that the Fitness Trackers we are wearing today will seem like quaint antiques in a few years time as manufacturers come up with new ways to quantify our bodies and what we put them through.
No doubt some features will for most of us be limited in their real world application, blood oxygen level monitoring comes to mind, but others may be a real benefit, allowing you to identify and target specific areas of your life or body that need addressing.
A device that has hit the news recently is a domestic full body scanner that allows you to create 3D scans of your body and monitor changes over time as well as measuring Body Fat % etc.
I wish I had had one when I first started losing weight, it would have been kinda cool to see where I was losing mass and where I wasn't (though in reality I know where my problem areas are).
And that's where I scratch my head and wonder what impact this device would have for me now. Will it help me lose weight over and above using a Fitness Tracker and a pair of scales? For me the answer is no (as far as I can see at this stage unless I am missing something), so it falls for me into the very "cool" but not essential category and if it motivates someone else to get out there and get active then great, but its not on my list at the moment.
